RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution approving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close all of Adelle Court, on May 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m., for the purpose of a neighborhood block party, Alamo area. (District II)

BACKGROUND:
Adelle Court Residents have requested the road closure for the purpose of a neighborhood block party. This block party will strengthen neighborhood connections and provides an opportunity for community members to gather, socialize, and participate in activities. Applicant shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Applicant will be unable to close the road to host a neighborhood block party.

IN THE MATTER OF: Approving and Authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close all of Adelle Court, on May 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m., for the purpose of a neighborhood block party, Alamo area. (District II)

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that permission is granted to Adelle Court Residents to fully close Adelle Court, except for emergency traffic, local residents, US Postal Service and garbage trucks, on May 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m., subject to the following conditions:
1. Emergency vehicles, residents within the event area and essential services will be allowed access as required.
2. All signing to be in accordance with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
3. Adelle Court Residents shall comply with the requirements of the Ordinance Code of Contra Costa County.
4. Provide the County with a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for Comprehensive General Public Liability which names the County as an additional insured prior to permit issuance.
5. Obtain approval for the closure from the California Highway Patrol, Sheriff’s Office, and the Contra Costa Fire Protection District.
