Fiscal Management Transition Update

The Fiscal Manager for the LMHA will be retiring in December of 2026. A transition plan for the fiscal management responsibilities will be temporarily reassigned to the LMHA Program LMHA staff’s transition into this new role aims not to impact program operations, ensuring continuity, accountability, and effective coordination.

2027 LMHA Program Planning and Priorities

LMHA staff, with consultation by Erica McWhorter, are planning the 2027 activities, including a grant workshop designed to strengthen contractor capacity, enhance grant-writing skills, and promote collaboration and coordination among LMHA contractors.  The workshop would provide resources and technical assistance to support the development and submission of competitive grant proposals and help contractors leverage funding opportunities.  In addition, the LMHA staff and Erica McWhorter will examine current health data to better inform the health priorities for the next 3 years of the LMHA Grant Cycles and will continue to identify opportunities to improve and streamline the county’s contract execution and reimbursement processes for contractors.

Poster Showcase Event

2026 Los Medanos Health Area Poster Showcase was a great success, with 26 of the 29 agencies in attendance. Testimonials from the participants and agency representative stated the poster showcase provided a valuable opportunity for them to highlight their programs, share accomplishments, and engage with fellow community partners.  Furthermore, the event fostered collaboration by allowing contractors to learn about the services and initiative offered by the other organizations, exchange ideas, and identify opportunities for future partnerships.  The showcase also strengthened connection among participating agencies, encouraged resource sharing, and created opportunities to leverage collective efforts to better serve the community.  The Los Medanos Health Area Connection’s Fall 2026 November Newsletter Edition includes highlights of the event.
