RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of County Contract #23-843-1 with Currey Consulting LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $894,000, to provide data analytics consultation and technical assistance services for Contra Costa Health’s (CCH) Information System Unit for the period May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2029.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $894,000 over a three-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
The CCH Information Systems Unit is responsible for providing data analytic services concerning information system development and management to support decision-making by performing complex analyses that manage and improve existing reporting systems. Contractor’s consultation and technical assistance services utilize industry best practices for business software applications, report writing, data analytics, consultation, and technical assistance.
This Contractor was chosen for its added value, experience, and industry expertise to help fill the need for managing and analyzing data. Currey Consulting LLC has demonstrated profound knowledge regarding data systems. These services provide in-depth analysis of complex health data, including valuable insights and patterns crucial for informed decision-making and customized solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of the CCH Information Systems Unit to ensure optimal performance and improved efficiency in data analysis and compliance with various California programs. These contributions in assessing risks associated with CCH data systems foster proactively mitigating potential issues with functions imperative to risk assessment and decision-making processes. This Contract is entered under and subject to the following legal authority: California Government Code § 31000. Per Administrative Bulletin 600.3, this contractor was approved by the Public Works Department’s Purchasing Division on September 12, 2025.
On May 14, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-843 with Currey Consulting LLC, in an amount not to exceed $620,000, to provide data analytics consultation and technical assistance for the Health Services Department’s Information Systems Unit, for the period May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2026.
Approval of Contract #23-843-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide data analytics consultation and technical assistance services for the Contra Costa Health’s Information System Unit through April 30, 2029.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Contract is not approved, County will not have access to Contractor’s expertise in data analytics consulting and technical assistance to support the CCH Information Systems Unit.
