Report Title: Purchase Order with OEC Medical Systems, Inc.
☒Recommendation of the County Administrator ☐ Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Director, a purchase order and accompanying agreement, with OEC Medical Systems, Inc., a G.E. Healthcare business, in an amount not to exceed $209,645 for the purchase of a C-Arm and related imaging equipment for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center under terms of a Vizient cooperative purchasing contract with G.E Healthcare.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this action will result in additional expenditures of up to $209,645 and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I Revenues.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) is seeking to purchase a new C-Arm, as the existing equipment, acquired in 2002, has reached an end-of-service status, with support and parts no longer available.
The OEC Elite C-Arm from OEC Medical Systems, Inc. is an advanced mobile imaging system designed for medical procedures requiring precise, real-time imaging, including orthopedic, vascular, urologic, and pain management surgeries. As part of the "C-arm" category, it features a C-shaped arm connecting the X-ray source and detector, allowing for versatile positioning around the patient. The system provides image quality through advanced algorithms that produce clear, detailed visuals, even in challenging cases or when imaging fine anatomical structures. Its flexible design enables easy positioning to capture various angles, aiding surgeons in making informed decisions. Additionally, the user-friendly interface allows healthcare professionals to efficiently manage settings and images, while features such as quick setup, seamless image capture, and data transfer are engineered to enhance operating room efficiency.
OEC Medical Systems, Inc. is a subsidiary of GE Healthcare, specializing in manufacturing and distributing mobile imaging systems, particularly C-arms. It is one of the leading global providers of healthcare products and services, focusing on innovations that support patient care and improve outcomes across various healthcare settings.
GE HealthCare warrants that it has the right to license or sublicense software licensed by GE HealthCare to Customer. This purchase includes a one-year warranty that covers parts and labor. The warranty begins once the equipment is accepted.
OEC Medical Systems, Inc is a member of the Vizient Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), which means that CCRMC will now receive rebates. This will further solidify our shared dedication to delivering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare solutions.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
This equipment would not be purchased from OEC Medical Systems, Inc. under the terms of the cooperative purchasing contract with G.E. Healthcare. Health Services would need to identify another vendor for equipment to replace existing equipment that is at the end of its useful life.
