RECOMMENDATIONS:
Adopt a resolution recognizing Nida Rivera for 30 years of service to Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Public Works Director.

IN THE MATTER OF Recognizing the contributions of Nida Rivera on her 30 years of service to Contra Costa County.
WHEREAS, Nida Rivera started employment at Contra Costa County as an Account Clerk - Experienced Level at the Office of Revenue Collection on August 5, 1996; and
WHEREAS, Nida was promoted to Account Clerk - Advanced Level on October 1, 1998; and
WHEREAS, Nida was promoted to Accounting Technician on November 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, Nida transferred to the General Services Department upon the closure of the Office of Revenue Collection on June 14, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Nida transferred to the Public Works Department as a result of the merger between the General Services Department and the Public Works Department on June 30, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Nida was promoted to Accountant I in charge of Fleet Services and Print & Mail accounting functions on May 2, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Nida was promoted to Accountant II on December 1, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Nida accepted the role of Flood Control and Clean Water Accountant for Public Works on May 1, 2024, assuming responsibility for nearly $27 million in grant funding; and
WHEREAS, Nida was promoted to Accountant III on October 1, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Nida has contributed to the County Wide Occupancy Budget for over fourteen years; and
WHEREAS, Nida has been instrumental in the purchase of County fleet vehicles, including the transition to an electric fleet; and
WHEREAS, Nida has managed the Fleet Internal Service Fund with contributions to the annual Internal Operations Committee Report; and
WHEREAS, Nida accepted the role of Flood Control and Clean Water Accountant which was a new role to Public Works and which required her to establish policies and procedures; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Supervisors does hereby recognize and honor Nida Rivera for her 30 years of dedicated service to Contra Costa County and for the high quality of work performed by her during her career.
