Report Title: Purchase Order with JAMF Software Inc. for JAMF Pro Software and Support Services
☒Recommendation of the County Administrator ☐ Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, or designee, to execute a purchase order with Jamf, in an amount not to exceed $115,000 for the purchase of Jamf Pro Software and support services to centrally manage and secure County-owned Apple devices deployed across multiple departments and locations, subject to the terms of Jamf’s Software License and Service Agreement, for the period of July 15, 2026, though July 14, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of this product is included in the department’s FY 26-27 budget (100% User Departments).
BACKGROUND:
Jamf specializes in Apple device management solutions, and its flagship product, Jamf Pro, is an enterprise-level mobile device management (MDM) platform designed specifically for managing Macs, iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs. The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Network Services teams use Jamf Pro Software and support services to centrally manage and secure County-owned Apple devices across multiple departments and locations.
Jamf Pro is used to automate device enrollment and provisioning, maintain hardware and software inventory records, deploy and manage applications, configure device settings and user profiles, enforce security policies, implement encryption and compliance controls, and distribute operating system updates and security patches. The platform also enables remote troubleshooting, device lock and wipe capabilities for lost or stolen devices, certificate management, and integration with identity and access management systems to support secure user authentication.
These services help ensure Apple devices remain secure, compliant with County technology standards, and properly configured throughout their lifecycle. Additionally, Jamf Pro provides reporting, analytics, and compliance monitoring capabilities that allow DoIT staff to track device health, software licensing, security posture, and operational performance, supporting informed decision-making, risk management, asset accountability, and efficient support of the County's Apple device environment.
Jamf’s Software License and Services Agreement include an indemnification provision from the County to Jamf and a Limitation of Liability clause, capping Jamf’s liability to the amount paid for the software and/or services in the twelve-month period preceding any claim.
The purchase is being made under a sole-source justification to ensure continuity of services.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Not utilizing Jamf Pro software to manage County-assigned Apple devices could lead to operational inefficiencies, security vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and challenges in overall device management and support.
