RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Amendment No. 2 to a participating addendum with FLO Charging Solutions USA, Inc., and an amendment to a blanket purchase order, to increase the amount by $800,000 to a new payment limit of $2,100,000, with no change to the term, for vehicle charging equipment, products, and services, for use by the Public Works Department in their deployment of Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations under the terms of the Master Contract awarded by the State of Minnesota, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Product and service costs are funded by the Measure X Sustainability Fund (100% Measure X Fund)
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Purchasing Services is requesting approval of Amendment No. 2 to a Participating Addendum and an amendment to blanket purchase order #28651 for the purchase of electric vehicle charging equipment, products, and services offered through FLO Charging Solutions USA, Inc. Products are guaranteed through the master contract awarded by Sourcewell, a State of Minnesota Public Agency. Approval of Addendum No. 2 between Contra Costa County and FLO Charging Solutions USA, Inc., allows the County to obtain guaranteed pricing available through the contract. The purchase will support the Public Works Department deploy vehicle charging equipment, products, and services, and provide discounted equipment off published list prices. This will allow the Public Works Department to purchase vehicle charging equipment, products, and services for less than they would without this benefit.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without approval of this agreement, the County would be paying full price on vehicle charging equipment, product and service purchases.
