IN THE MATTER OF: Recognizing Amadeus Castillo as the 2026 Youth Hall of Fame Awardee for Good Samaritan
WHEREAS, Amadeus Castillo is a dedicated and compassionate student who has demonstrated exceptional volunteerism and leadership through his various contributions to his school, local community, and beyond; and
WHEREAS, academically, Amadeus is a high-achieving student and has earned Honor Roll. He is member of Latinos Unidos, a cultural club at Freedom High School. He has shown an unwavering commitment to his school by leading fundraisers, providing resources to support cultural scholarships and student interactions, and participation within the campus community; and
WHEREAS, he is also a part of the Antioch Teen Council. He has tutored math and English to middle and high school student. Recognizing a critical need among multilingual students, he took the initiative to create a support program to help reduce failing grades; and
WHEREAS, in addition, he has volunteered with Global Glimpse, which helps build schools and homes in underserved communities while developing global awareness and leadership skills; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby recognize Amadeus Castillo as the 2026 Youth Hall of Fame Awardee for Good Samaritan for his longstanding dedication and contributions to those he serves in his school, community and beyond.
