RECOMMENDATIONS:
Honoring Fred Glueck for his years of service as a volunteer member on the Contra Costa County Hazardous Materials Commission.

If the action is not approved, Fred Glueck would not be recognized for his years of service on the Contra Costa County Hazardous Materials Commission.

IN THE MATTER OF Honoring Fred Glueck for his years of service as a volunteer member on the Contra Costa County Hazardous Materials Commission
WHEREAS, since his appointment on February 11, 2014 Fred Glueck continuously served on the Hazardous Materials Commission; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck served as both the Chair and Vice Chair to the Hazardous Materials Commission during his service; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck served as Chair and Vice Chair to the Hazardous Materials Commission Operations Committee; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck collaborated with fellow commissioners to develop a letter of recommendation to the Board of Supervisors and Transportation, Water and Infrastructure Committee regarding sea level rise and the transportation of hazardous materials and waste in Contra Costa County; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck proudly represented the West County Council of Industries and utilized his vast knowledge and experience to provide meaningful input and perspective to meeting discussions; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck worked with other Operations Committee members to develop a letter of recommendation to the Board of Supervisors on how to increase community engagement around the cleanup of Brownfield sites ; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck collaborated with fellow commissioners to recommend changes and additions to the County’s 2021-2023 Legislative Platform, in addition to creating a memorandum in support of the AIA Pipeline Grant; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck assisted in planning and facilitating a public forum to educate Contra Costa County residents on household hazardous materials including household hazardous waste and pharmaceutical disposal, rechargeable batteries safety, Hazardous Materials Incident Prevention and Response, Community Warning System, and reporting odors and air pollution; and
WHEREAS, Fred Glueck will be honored by his peers from the Hazardous Materials Commission at the occasion of their December 11, 2025 Commission meeting; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the County Board of Supervisors does hereby recognize and honors Fred Glueck for his years of service as a volunteer member on the Contra Costa County Hazardous Materials Commission.
