RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, to execute a purchase order with Carahsoft Technology Corp. in an amount not to exceed $23,000, for the purchase of LinkedIn Learning for Government for the period of April 19, 2026, through April 18, 2027.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

The cost of this product is included in the Department’s FY 25-26 budget. 100% User Departments.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

LinkedIn Learning for Government is a specialized version of LinkedIn Learning tailored for government organizations. It offers high-quality, multi-language content aimed at addressing the specific needs and challenges faced by government employees, and includes the following key features:

 

1.                     High-quality content: The platform provides a vast library of courses covering various topics such as leadership, technology, communication, and more, curated specifically for government professionals.

2.                     Multi-language support: Courses are available in multiple languages to cater to the diverse workforce within government organizations.

3.                     Unlimited access: Government employees with access to LinkedIn Learning for Government can enjoy unlimited access to the entire library of courses, allowing them to enhance their skills and knowledge at their own pace.

4.                     Accessibility from any device: The platform is accessible from any device with an internet connection, enabling users to learn anytime, anywhere.

5.                     Administrative tools: Administrators within government organizations have access to tools and features to manage user accounts, track progress, and monitor usage, ensuring effective implementation and utilization of the platform across the organization.

 

Overall, LinkedIn Learning for Government is a powerful tool which can empower County employees to enhance their skills and extend their depth of knowledge needed to excel in their roles and drive organizational success.

 

LinkedIn’s Subscription Agreement and User Agreement include a limitation of liability clause which limits LinkedIn’s liability for claims arising from the County’s use of the service to the amount of fees paid. LinkedIn’s Subscription Agreement also includes an indemnification from the County to LinkedIn for damages resulting the County’s use of the service.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

If this purchase is not approved, County staff will have a limited number of technical training options which can help strengthen existing technical knowledge, acquire new skills and remain updated on the latest technology trends.
