ADOPT Resolution No. 2024/XX recognizing Aretha Chandler for her 30 years of service to Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Risk Management Director.

RECOGNIZING the contributions of Aretha Chandler on the occasion of her 30 years of service to Contra Costa County.

WHEREAS, on April 1, 1992, Aretha Chandler began her career with the Department of Information Technology as a Computer Operator Trainee; and

WHEREAS, on October 1, 1997, Aretha was promoted to Senior Computer Operator; and

WHEREAS, on May 1, 1998, Aretha was promoted to Computer Operator III; and

WHEREAS, on June 9, 2004, Aretha was promoted to Information Systems Technician I; and

WHEREAS, on June 1, 2006, Aretha transferred to the Risk Management Department as an Information System Technician I; and

WHEREAS, Aretha was instrumental in the Risk Management Department’s success to operate during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place Health Order of March 2020. She created the departmental Working Remotely from Home guideline, coordinated, and prepared for remote work equipment, and arranged group communication opportunities using technological applications. Aretha contributed to transitioning the Risk Management Department from utilizing paper timecards to electronic timecard submissions via the White Card system. Aretha is an integral team member in the onboarding of new employees and exiting of employees by providing IT expertise and support to these processes. Aretha continually assists with special projects including SharePoint migration, managing, and maintaining department equipment inventory, replacement, and upgrades. She is an essential team member with the department’s Risk Management Information System (RMIS) and as a liaison with the County’s Department of Information Technology.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors does hereby recognize and honor Aretha Chandler for her 30 years of service and gives its full appreciation for her dedicated service to the Risk Management Department and the people of this County.
