IN THE MATTER OF Recognizing Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer for his outstanding service, leadership, and advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community.

 

 

 

WHEREAS, Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer is a dedicated community leader, advocate, and philanthropist whose lifelong commitment to service began at the age of eighteen and has continued to positively impact countless lives throughout his community; and

WHEREAS, from his earliest volunteer efforts within his church community to his hands-on participation in disaster relief efforts during the 1998 Rio Linda floods, Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer has consistently demonstrated a steadfast dedication to helping others in times of need; and

WHEREAS, in 2021, Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer further expanded his service by joining the Royal Grand Ducal Council, where he faithfully served two years as Treasurer and contributed significantly to strengthening the organization's charitable and community outreach efforts; and

WHEREAS, as Royal Crown Prince during Reigns 30 and 31, Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer championed transgender rights through the production of two successful fundraising events, generating more than $4,000 in support of advocacy, awareness, and community empowerment; and

WHEREAS, recognizing the importance of creating opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth, Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer played a pivotal role in reviving the Royal $1.98 Pageant at the Town Youth Center in Oakland, fostering inclusion, creativity, and community engagement for a new generation; and

WHEREAS, through innovative leadership and community-building efforts, Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer produced the Royal Folles comedy show at Club 1220 in Walnut Creek, raising nearly $10,000 for charitable causes while bringing together community members in celebration and support of philanthropy; and

WHEREAS, his commitment to the principles of the International Court System extends beyond his own realm through his support of sister courts, including outreach and fundraising efforts benefiting the community in Fresno and strengthening bonds throughout the organization; and

WHEREAS, through his activism, fundraising achievements, volunteerism, and unwavering dedication to community engagement, Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer has uplifted and empowered individuals across generations while exemplifying the highest ideals of leadership, service, and compassion;

 

 

 

 

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby recognize Royal Grand Duke Sammy Spencer for his outstanding service, leadership, advocacy, and enduring contributions to the realm, the International Court System, and the communities he so faithfully serves.
