Report Title: Purchase Order with UWorld, LLC
☒Recommendation of the County Administrator ☐ Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Health Services Director, a (1) purchase order with UWorld, LLC in an amount not to exceed $45,000 and (2) a Subscription Agreement with UWorld, LLC to renew online exam-preparation software services, for the period of August 2, 2024 through August 1, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this action would result in expenditures of up to $45,000 over the three-year period and will be funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
CCRMC must ensure that the majority of its residents pass the American Board of Family Medicine exam each spring to maintain its accreditation as a physician residency program. Providing high-quality test preparation resources is an effective strategy to help residents achieve this requirement. UWorld, a leading provider of educational products and services, specializes in comprehensive question banks, practice exams, and detailed explanations for medical licensing exams, including the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) and COMLEX (Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination). Utilizing UWorld's services would equip CCRMC physician residents with the essential tools to adequately prepare for and successfully pass their board exams.
The Subscription Agreement obligates the County to indemnify UWorld for County’s negligence or willful misconduct by County. Under the agreement UWorld’s liability is limited to no more than the amount County has paid during the term of the agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, CCRMC could face significant challenges, including potential risks to the Family Medicine Residency Program's accreditation and a decline in the overall quality of education provided to residents.
