IN THE MATTER OF RECOGNIZING MITCHELL HOPSON
Whereas, Mitchell Hopson graciously accepted the honor to serve as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. annual celebration and honorary event held at the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors meeting; and
Whereas, Mitchell Hopson is an active community member serving on various volunteer boards and organizations, including Leadership San Ramon Valley and the San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition; and
Whereas, Mitchell received the prestigious “Citizen of The Year” award in 2020 from the San Ramon Valley Chamber of Commerce; and
Whereas, Mitchell is a strategic financial and business operations professional with nearly two decades of work, he has held financial leadership positions with prominent nationwide non-profit organizations; and
Whereas, Mitchell Hopson holds a BA in Business Administration an MBA in Finance from Florida A&M University and MS in International Affairs from Georgetown University; and
WHEREAS, Mitchell serves on various volunteer boards and organizations, including the San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition, Discovery Counseling Center, and Diablo Black Men’s Group. He was a member of the Leadership San Ramon Valley Board from 2015 to 2024. Mitchell and his family have lived in San Ramon since 2012.
Now, therefore be it resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby honor
Mitchell Hopson
For his long-standing dedication to Contra Costa County
