RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution ratifying the prior decision of the Public Works Director, or designee, to partially close a portion of Canyon Lake Drive from Reservoir Street to the terminus, on July 4, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m., for the purpose of traffic control and fire protection related to a community event, Port Costa area. (District V)

No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
Suzanne Statler shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Suzanne Statler will not have Board approval for completed road closure.

IN THE MATTER OF: Ratifying the prior decision of the Public Works Director, or designee, to partially close a portion of Canyon Lake Drive from Reservoir Street to the terminus, on July 4, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m., for the purpose of traffic control and fire protection related to a community event, Port Costa area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that permission is granted to Suzanne Statler to partially close Canyon Lake Drive from Reservoir Street to the terminus, except for emergency traffic, local residents, US Postal Service and garbage trucks, on July 4, 2024, for the period of 3:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m., subject to the following conditions:
1. Traffic will be detoured via roads identified in a traffic control plan, reviewed by the Public Works Department. Emergency vehicles, residents within the event area and essential services will be allowed access as required.
2. All signing to be in accordance with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
3. Suzanne Statler shall comply with the requirements of the Ordinance Code of Contra Costa County.
4. Provide the County with a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for Comprehensive General Public Liability which names the County as an additional insured prior to permit issuance.
5. Obtain approval for the closure from the Sheriff’s Department, the California Highway Patrol and the Fire District.
