RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Community Violence Solutions in an amount not to exceed $560,130 to provide prevention and intervention services for survivors of interpersonal violence in Contra Costa County for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

$560,130, 100% County; of which $280,065 (50%) is budgeted in FY 25-26 and $280,065 (50%) will be budgeted in FY 26-27.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

The Employment and Human Services Department engaged in an RFP solicitation for FY 24/25 and selected Community Violence Solutions (CVS) to provide comprehensive interpersonal violence prevention and intervention services for survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking in Contra Costa County. CVS provides 24/7 crisis support as well as advocacy services for such survivors. CVS also provides healthy relationship workshops to students and adults in Contra Costa County to prevent and interrupt the cycle of dating violence and interpersonal violence.

 

On September 10, 2024, the Board approved Consent Item C.50. authorizing a contract with CVS for the term July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, for an amount not to exceed $280,065. This renewal is for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027, for an amount not to exceed $560,130 ($280,065 per fiscal year).

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

Should the proposed action not be approved by the Board of Supervisors, the County will not be able to provide crisis support, advocacy or prevention services to survivors of interpersonal violence.
