Report Title:                     Ratify the prior decision of the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close a portion of Fourth Street and Harris Avenue on October 12, 2023, through October 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Rodeo area.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Resolution to ratify the prior decision of the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close a portion of Fourth Street and Harris Avenue on October 12, 2023, through October 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., for the purpose of a sewer main pipe repair, Rodeo area.  (District V)

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

 

BACKGROUND:

APB General Engineering shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Applicant will be unable to close the road for planned activities.

IN THE MATTER OF: Ratifying the prior decision of the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close a portion of Fourth Street and Harris Avenue on October 12, 2023, through October 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., for the purpose of a sewer main pipe repair at the intersection, Rodeo area.  (District V)

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that permission is granted to APB General Engineering to fully close a portion of  Fourth Street and Harris Avenue except for emergency traffic, local residents, US Postal Service and garbage trucks, from October 12, 2023, through October 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., subject to the following conditions:

1.                     Traffic will be detoured via roads identified in a traffic control plan, reviewed by the Public Works Department. Emergency vehicles, residents within the event area and essential services will be allowed access as required.

2.                     All signing to be in accordance with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

3.                      APB General Engineering shall comply with the requirements of the Ordinance Code of Contra Costa County.

4.                      Provide the County with a Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 for Comprehensive General Public Liability, which names the County as an additional insured prior to permit issuance.

5.                      Obtain approval for the closure from the Sheriff’s Department, the California Highway Patrol and the Fire District.
