IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION HONORING MORAGA HARDWARE AND LUMBER
AND BILL SNIDER FOR OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE
AND BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
WHEREAS, Moraga Hardware & Lumber has been a trusted and enduring local business serving the Moraga community for over two decades, demonstrating resilience, strong business practices, and a steadfast commitment to quality service; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Bill Snider, who has owned and operated the business since May 2000, Moraga Hardware & Lumber has not only thrived through economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, but has remained a cornerstone of the local economy and community life; and
WHEREAS, Bill Snider, a Moraga resident since 1990, has exemplified a deep commitment to the community, raising his family locally and contributing his time, energy, and resources to numerous civic, educational, and youth-focused initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Moraga Hardware & Lumber has supported countless community events, school programs, scout projects, and local organizations, while also providing meaningful employment opportunities for local youth, including members of the neurodivergent community, helping develop valuable life and job skills; and
WHEREAS, Bill Snider has demonstrated outstanding leadership and volunteerism through his involvement with the Moraga Community Foundation, the Moraga Education Foundation, and Lafayette Moraga Youth Association sports, as well as key contributions to community projects; and through Moraga Hardware & Lumber and its adjacent store, “Across The Way,” has consistently supported local schools, service organizations, and community groups, fostering a strong culture of giving; and
WHEREAS, Bill Snider is widely recognized as a welcoming and compassionate community member, a champion of local businesses, and a role model whose integrity, ethical business practices, and commitment to customer service have set a high standard in the community; and
WHEREAS, the mission and values of Moraga Hardware & Lumber reflect Bill Snider’s dedication to fostering a vibrant, connected, and supportive community in Moraga;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby honor and congratulate
