Founded in 1926, the Kiwanis Club of Martinez has served the community for 100 years as a dedicated volunteer organization committed to improving the lives of children and families. As part of Kiwanis International, a global organization focused on community service and youth development, the Martinez chapter has played a vital role in supporting local initiatives that promote education, leadership, and civic engagement.

 

Throughout its century of service, the Kiwanis Club of Martinez has contributed to numerous community programs, events, and partnerships that have strengthened the social fabric of the City of Martinez. The organization has supported youth through scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and sponsorship of service leadership programs, while also participating in community improvement efforts and charitable activities that benefit residents of all ages.

A RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE KIWANIS CLUB OF MARTINEZ AND COMMENDING A CENTURY OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Martinez celebrates its 100th Anniversary in 2026, marking a century of dedicated service to the residents of Martinez and the broader Contra Costa County community;

WHEREAS, founded in 1926, the Kiwanis Club of Martinez has been an integral part of the civic life of Martinez, contributing to the growth, resilience, and well-being of the community through consistent volunteerism and service;

WHEREAS, as a member of Kiwanis International, the Club is part of a worldwide network of volunteers committed to improving the lives of children and strengthening communities through service, leadership, and partnership;

WHEREAS, over the past century, the Kiwanis Club of Martinez has supported a wide range of local initiatives, including youth leadership programs, educational scholarships, community events, and service projects that uplift families and promote civic pride;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors hereby celebrates and congratulates the Kiwanis Club of Martinez on the occasion of its 100th Anniversary and expresses its deep appreciation for a century of outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the community;
