RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #76-956 with Hedayat Neurology Consulting Inc., a professional corporation, in an amount not to exceed $410,000, to provide neurology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Contract will result in annual expenditures of up to $410,000 and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers rely on contractors to provide necessary neurology specialty health services to its patients. This is a new Contractor who will provide neurology services including, but not limited to: neurology clinic services, inpatient consultation, training, medical/surgical procedures and on-call services for CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Center patients starting June 1, 2026.
This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code §§ 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code § 1451. Health Services Personnel approved this contract to ensure no conflicts with labor relations. CCRMC’s Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the contract are upheld. Per Administrative Bulletin 600.3, CCRMC Physician services are exempt from Solicitation requirements.
Approval of new Contract #76-956 will allow the Contractor to provide neurology services at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers through May 31, 2027.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Contract is not approved, the necessary specialty neurology services needed for patient care will not be available or will create increased wait times due to the limited number of specialty providers available within the community.
