Report Title: ADMIN - Agreement Amendment 29-519-2 Board of State and Community Corrections for Intervention Grant Program

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a grant extension with the State of California, Board of State and Community Corrections to extend the term through September 30, 2027 with no change to the grant amount of $1,000,000 to implement the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program in Contra Costa County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of amendment will have no additional fiscal impact.
100% Federal, pass-through from the State of California, no county match required.
BACKGROUND:
On March 26, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved item C.28 authorizing the application and acceptance of grant award number BSCC 1303-24 with the State of California, Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) for the period July 15, 2024 through September 30, 2026. On November 5, 2025, the Board ratified executing the revenue agreement in the amount of $1,000,000. This staff report seeks approval of a grant extension through September 30, 2027 from the funder with no change to the funding amount of $1,000,000.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This Agreement supports all five of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes of the Children’s Report Card”: (1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; (2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood";(3) "Families that are Economically Self-Sufficient"; (4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and (5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should the proposed action not be approved by the Board of Supervisors, the County will not be able execute the No-Cost Extension amendment to the grant award.
