.IN THE MATTER OF the recognition of Vince De Lange in appreciation of his more than three decades of professional leadership, commitment to excellence, and contributions to the wastewater sector and public service.

 

WHEREAS, Vince De Lange has dedicated more than 32 years to the wastewater industry,

providing distinguished technical expertise, leadership, and professional service in support of

environmental protection and public health; and

 

WHEREAS, Vince De Lange served for nine years as General Manager of Delta Diablo, where

he provided executive leadership and strategic direction in advancing the agency’s mission and

serving the communities within its service area; and

 

WHEREAS, prior to his tenure with Delta Diablo, Vice De Lange served for 17 years in

progressively responsible engineering positions with the East Bay Municipal Utility District and

six years as a wastewater process engineer with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission;

and

 

WHEREAS, Vince De Lange earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering

and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California,

Berkeley, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California; and

 

WHEREAS, throughout his career, Vince De Lange has contributed to the advancement of the

wastewater and water industry through his active involvement with professional organizations,

including the California Association of Sanitation Agencies, California Sanitation Risk

Management Authority, Bay Area Clean Water Agencies, Water Environment Federation, and

Water Environment Research Foundation; and

 

WHEREAS, Vince De Lange has a longstanding connection to the communities he served,

having grown up and attended school in Pittsburg throughout his formative K-12 years and

proudly graduating from Pittsburg High School; and

 

WHEREAS, Vince De Lange’s more than three decades of professional service represent a

lasting commitment to environmental stewardship, public service, and the continued

advancement of the wastewater industry; and

 

WHEREAS, Contra Costa County recognizes the significant contributions Vince De Lange has

made throughout his distinguished career and his dedicated service to the local community; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors hereby recognizes and honors Vince De Lange for his distinguished career, professional leadership, and dedicated service to Delta Diablo, the wastewater industry, and the communities of Contra Costa County.
