Report Title: Contract Amendment/Extension #76-869-1 with Stryker Sales, LLC
☒Recommendation of the County Administrator ☐ Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment/Extension #76-869-1 with Stryker Sales, LLC, a limited liability company, effective June 2, 2026, to increase the payment limit by $115,000, from $105,000, to a new payment limit of $220,000, and to extend the termination date from June 30, 2026 to June 30, 2029 for additional preventative maintenance and repair services for operating equipment for the Operating Room (OR) at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC).
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Amendment will result in additional annual expenditures of up to $115,000 and will be funded as budgeted by the department in FY 2026-29, by 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I funds.
BACKGROUND:
Stryker Sales, LLC will provide preventative maintenance and repairs or replacement of operating equipment, due to damage associated with normal use, and wear, upon request from CCRMC. This Contractor may provide loaner equipment during the period equipment is in the Contractor’s possession for repair. This Contractor will prioritize repairs for CCRMC before non-contracted customers, with no additional administration or approval process, to provide these services to CCRMC as quickly as possible. CCRMC has been using this Contractor’s equipment for several years in the OR for several surgical devices used in operations ensuring doctors can perform the precise procedure with accuracy. OR equipment included, but are not limited to, small bone orthopedic saws and drills, neurosurgery high speed drills, Ear Nose Throat (ENT) shavers, joint shavers and bone mills.
Health Services Personnel approved this contract to ensure no conflicts with labor relations. CCRMC’s Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the contract are upheld.
On July 23, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved Master Services Agreement (MSA) #76-869 with Stryker Sales, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $105,000 for the provision of preventative maintenance and repair services for operating equipment for the OR at CCRMC, for the period from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #76-869-1 will allow the Contractor to provide additional preventative maintenance and repair services through June 30, 2029. The Division is requesting a retroactive effective date for this Contract due to delays caused by negotiations between the parties.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Amendment is not approved, preventative maintenance and repair services required for operating equipment for patient care will not be available putting patients medical and overall care at risk.
