Solano on their 50th Anniversary

IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

Whereas, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano has been a critical partner of our County and a vital force in providing hunger relief and serving communities in Contra Costa and Solano counties for the past 50 years; and

Whereas, since its founding in 1975, the Food Bank has worked tirelessly to combat food insecurity, providing nutritious food to those in need, regardless of race, background, or situation; and

Whereas, the Food Bank has distributed millions of pounds of food each year, assisting thousands of individuals and families in the community through a network of food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and direct programs; and

Whereas, the Food Bank has continually expanded its services, programs, and partnerships to address the ever-growing need for food assistance in the region, ensuring that no one in Contra Costa and Solano counties goes hungry; and

Whereas, the work of the Food Bank would not be possible without the dedication of its compassionate staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners who work together to ensure the continued success of the organization and its mission; and

Whereas, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is committed to not only providing emergency food but also promoting long-term solutions to hunger through education, awareness, and advocacy for policies that reduce food insecurity; and

Whereas, as the Food Bank celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is fitting to honor its legacy of service and dedication to improving the lives of those who are most vulnerable in our community;

Now, therefore be it resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby recognize the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano for its partnership with us, and its outstanding contributions to the fight against hunger, its extraordinary 50-year commitment to alleviating food insecurity, and its ongoing efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families across the region.
