Report Title: Recognizing Timothy Jensen for 35 years of service to Contra Costa County

RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT a resolution recognizing Timothy Jensen for 35 years of service to Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Public Works Director.

The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, California
IN THE MATTER OF Recognizing the contributions of Timothy Jensen on his 35 years of service to Contra Costa County.
WHEREAS, in 1990, Timothy Jensen began his career with the Public Works Department as an Engineer in the Design Division; and
WHEREAS, in 1993, Timothy became a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California; and
WHEREAS, in 1998, Timothy was promoted to Associate Civil Engineer while in the Maintenance Division and placed in the Flood Control Division; and
WHEREAS, in January 2002, Timothy was nominated for the J. Michael Walford Employee of the Year Award for: (1) his work on the Rodeo Creek Bioengineering site and (2) his work obtaining funding from FEMA for storm damaged projects; and
WHEREAS, in November 2002, Timothy received the “Award of Excellence” for his work assisting Engineering Servies in the repair of a creek headcut at a mitigation site for State Route 4; and
WHEREAS, in January 2006, Timothy successfully coordinated and negotiated with a Developer to accomplish the Drainage Area 10 Line A improvement; and
WHEREAS, in 2008, Timothy was promoted to Senior Civil Engineer while in the Flood Control Division; and
WHEREAS, in 2017 Timothy was promoted to Supervising Civil Engineer while in the Flood Control Division; and
WHEREAS, Timothy has skillfully executed the “Stay Out Stay Alive” initiative to inform school children annually about water safety; and
WHEREAS, Timothy has generously imparted his technical expertise in Flood Control engineering and practical insights in Maintenance engineering to staff, and
WHEREAS, Timothy developed a crucial training course for the Flood Control Division personnel; and
WHEREAS, Timothy has also amassed the highest number of Aloha shirts at Public Works so he can continue the “Flood Control Aloha Thursday” attire; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Supervisors does hereby recognize and honor Timothy Jensen for his 35 years of dedicated service to Contra Costa County and for the high quality of work performed by him during his career.
