Report Title:                     Amendment to License Agreement with American Tower, LLC. for communication tower space at Rocky Ridge Rebuild, unincorporated southwest portion of County.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the Third Amendment to License Agreement with American Tower, LLC., Effective January 1, 2024, the current monthly fee of $7,015 will increase by $587; total annual cost of $91,224 with annual increases, due to the installation of additional equipment on the tower as requested by the Department of Information Technology, in unincorporated Contra Costa County, Danville area.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

100% User Departments.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

This communications site is a primary and necessary link in the communications network for Contra Costa County that the County has occupied since 1978.  This Third Amendment will allow the County to add additional equipment needed to support communications in the southern portion of the County.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

The County will have limited communications coverage in the southern portion of the County.
