Report Title: Grant Amendment #28-970-1 with the State of California Department of General Services

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Interim Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Grant Amendment #28-970-1 (State #21MHSOAC013-01), to amend Standard Agreement #28-970 (State #21MHSOAC013) with the California Department of General Services, Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC), to increase the amount payable to the County by $1,618,167, from $5,995,421 to a new amount not to exceed $7,613,588 and extend the grant period through December 31, 2026 to expand access to mental health services for children and youth under the Mental Health Student Services Act of 2019.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Grant Amendment will result in an additional amount payable to the County of $1,618,167 from the California Department of General Services, MHSOAC. No County match required.
BACKGROUND:
This Grant was originally awarded pursuant to the Mental Health Student Services Act of 2019 and allows County's Health Services Department's Behavioral Health Services Division (BHSD) to expand school-based programs including, but not limited to, expanding campus-based mental health services for children and youth. BHSD acts as lead agency in partnership with Contra Costa County Office of Education and local school districts to implement a program which will include providing additional staff at the Office of Education to support children's mental health needs and create a network of parent peer champions to help facilitate linkage and access to mental health services in school.
