Caltrans Grant Program
August 2026, the Caltrans Headquarters Division of Transportation Planning’s Grant Management Branch issued a call for projects for the Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant (STPG) program ($30.4 million: $17.9 million/competitive & $12.5 million/formula). The purpose of the STPG program is to encourage local and regional planning that supports state goals, implements Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Sustainable Communities Strategies (SCS) (where applicable), and to ultimately achieve the State’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction target of 40 and 85 percent below 1990 levels by 2030 and 2045, respectively.
