RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute a purchase order with CDW-G on behalf of the Employment and Human Services Department in an amount not to exceed $310,989, to procure approximately 369 Fujitsu Scanners for the period January 1, 2024 through June 30, 2024.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

$310,989 (59% Federal; 35% State; 6% County), all of which is budgeted in FY 23-24.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

The Employment and Human Services Department is replacing scanners used by the CalSAWS application. This equipment is needed to replace old scanners that are not compatible with the updated CalSAWS case management system. This upgrade will also provide warranty coverage for the scanners.

 

Approval of this request will result in the procurement of approximately 369 Fujitsu Scanners for the period January 1, 2024 through June 30, 2024.

 

CHILDREN’S IMPACT STATEMENT:

 

The equipment provided under this purchase supports all five of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes of the Children’s Report Card: (1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; (2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; (3)"Families that are Economically Self-Sufficient"; (4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and (5)"Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families” by providing training and employment opportunities for in-school and out-of-school youth.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

The Employment and Human Services Department will not be able to purchase scanners from CDW-G and will have to find a new vendor to replace equipment.
