RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Employment and Human Services Director, a purchase order with Carahsoft, in an amount not to exceed $211,248 for the purchase of Nerdio License for the period December 1, 2024 through September 30, 2027.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$211,248: 54% Federal, 38% State, 8% County; $70,416 of which is budgeted in FY24/25; $70,416 of which will be budgeted in FY25/26; and $70,416 will be budgeted in FY 26/27.

BACKGROUND:

The Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD), is seeking to purchase Nerdio Manager for Enterprise License through Carahsoft to help manage Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment for remote staff working from home, performing field visits to client's homes, and traveling on County business. This is the key system that enables EHSD to manage our current AVD solution and support staff to remotely connect to the County network. This purchase order is subject to Nerdio's Master Customer Agreement that includes an indemnification of Nerdio, Inc. by the County, and a limitation of liability provision capping liability at the amount of fees paid. This vendor was selected per procurement requirements outlined in Administrative Bulletin 600.3.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Should the proposed action not be approved, County staff will not have remote access to the County network.
