RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26600 to reallocate the salary of Employment and Human Services Chief Financial Officer - Exempt (XAD9) at Salary Plan and Grade B85 2010 ($12,899.35 - $16,463.21) to Salary Plan and Grade B85 2010 ($15,034.20 - $18,274.16) in the Employment and Human Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this item will result in cost increases of up to $40,570 annually and an increase of up to $6,761 for FY 25-26, and will be funded by 8% County, 54% Federal, and 38% State funds.
BACKGROUND:
At the request of the Employment & Human Services Department, a compensation study was conducted by the Human Resources Department for the classification of Employment and Human Services Chief Financial Officer - Exempt (XAD9). The study compared the existing Contra Costa County classification against similar classifications in comparable Bay Area counties.
After a thorough evaluation, the Human Resources Department has determined that a salary increase is recommended for the Employment and Human Services Chief Financial Officer - Exempt classification. Based on the results, the Human Resources Department has made the following recommendation: Increase the salary of Employment and Human Services Chief Financial Officer - Exempt (XAD9) by 11% and remove the bottom step to establish a five-step salary range - resulting in a top step increase from $197,558.47 to $219,289.90.
