Report Title:                     Purchase Order for Azco Supply, Inc., Countywide.

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order with Azco Supply, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $225,000 to supply traffic control parts and supplies on an as-needed basis for the period January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Facilities Maintenance Budget. (100% General Fund)

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department, Facilities Services Division, is responsible for maintaining all County buildings and properties. Traffic control repairs and improvements are included in this required maintenance.

Facilities Services Division uses Azco Supply, Inc. as our sole source local representative for Steinberg Traffic Poles and NoTraffic traffic signal detection systems. The poles are unique to certain intersections and are not interchangeable with other brands. The camera systems are also not compatible with other systems. These poles and traffic systems are used at various intersections throughout the County and work in conjunction with other city-controlled intersections.

Facilities Services is requesting approval for a one-year purchase order with Azco Supply, Inc. for the term January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026, in the amount of $225,000.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this purchase order is not approved, procurement of  traffic control parts and equipment with Azco Supply, Inc. will not be able to continue, and access to Steinberg Traffic Poles and NoTraffic traffic signal detection systems will be limited.
