RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPOINT, in lieu of election, Kevin Lahar and Don Wagenet to the Board of Trustees for Reclamation District 2024 (Orwood and Palm Tracts) for terms ending December 2029, as recommended by the County Administrator.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The Board of Supervisors received correspondence from Dante Nomellini, District Secretary and Counsel for Reclamation District 2024 (Orwood and Palm Tracts), requesting appointments to the Board of Trustees of the District. Mr. Nomellini reports that pursuant to a notice calling for nomination petitions for three positions on the Board of Trustees, the District received two nomination petitions. No petition requesting an election has been received and one position will remain vacant. The District requests that the Board of Supervisors appoint Kevin Lehar and Don Wagenet to the Board of Trustees of Reclamation District 2024, for terms ending December 2029.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The proposed nominees to the Board of Trustees of Reclamation District 2024 would not be approved, which may hinder the Board of Trustees in achieving quorum and conducting District business.
