RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Interim Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #23-563-7 with JWG Consulting LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $669,900, to provide consulting, training and technical assistance services to the Department's Information Systems (IS) Unit, for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $669,900 over a 2-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the needs of the Department's IS Unit by providing consulting, training, and technical assistance services regarding medical billing and accounts receivable, including the collection of revenue and monitoring of the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) billing requirement announcements/changes. The County has been contracting with JWG Consulting LLC to provide technical assistance services since January 2015.
This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 31000. This Contract was approved by Health Services Personnel to ensure there is no conflict with labor relations. The IS Unit's Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the Contract are upheld. This Contractor was approved by the Public Works Department's Purchasing Division on March 18, 2025.
