RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #76-965 with The Posh Bakery, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $270,000, to provide bakery services to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC)’s Nutrition Services department for the period from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $270,000 over a 3-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
This Contractor has been providing bakery services for CCRMC’s Nutrition Services department through Purchase Orders since 2017. This Contractor is a local bakery that delivers freshly baked goods to CCRMC which are provided to patients, staff, and café patrons. The Contractor’s baked goods meet the nutritional standards of patients and allow them to be implemented into patient menus. They meet CCRMC’s need for consistent daily deliveries of freshly baked goods while providing exceptional communication and levels of customer service.
This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code §§ 26227 and 31000. CCRMC’s Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the Contract are upheld. This Contract was approved by Health Services Personnel to ensure there is no conflict with labor relations. This Contractor was approved by the Public Works Department’s Purchasing Division through a Request for Proposal on June 1, 2026.
