RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute a use permit with the Port Costa Conservation Society (PCCS) allowing the County to conduct civil wedding ceremonies at the Port Costa School on October 31, 2025.

BACKGROUND:
The County Clerk-Recorder will be conducting civil wedding ceremonies inside the Port Costa School on October 31, 2025. Use of the Port Costa School requires a Special Event Permit, attached, in which parts of the agreement require the County to accept liability for any site damages resulting from the County’s activities and to agree to indemnify, hold harmless, defend and protect PCCS, its Board, agents, members and volunteers from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, for or in connection with illness or injury or damage to any person or the loss or damage of property arising out of the use of the Port Costa School for the event (page 5).
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Clerk-Recorder will be unable to conduct ceremonies at the Port Costa School.
