Report Title: Contract with Valley Air Conditioning & Repair, Inc. for On-Call Cogeneration Plant Maintenance and Repair Services, Countywide.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Valley Air Conditioning & Repair, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, to provide on-call cogeneration plant maintenance and repair services at various County sites and facilities, for the period of October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2030, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Facilities Maintenance Budget. (75% General Fund, 25% Hospital Enterprise Funds)
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department, Facilities Services, is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all County buildings and facilities. Government Code Section 25358 authorizes the County to contract for maintenance and upkeep of County facilities. Cogeneration plants offer combined heat and power in one system. This contractor will be responsible for maintaining the cogeneration plant modules across the County.
The Public Works Department recently conducted a formal solicitation for on-call cogeneration plant maintenance and repair services in June of 2025. The Request for Proposal was originally bid on Bidnet Direct #RFP_F-Contr-0000000086. After thorough evaluation of the bids received, Valley Air Conditioning & Repair, Inc. was awarded for these services. This contract will have a term of five (5) years. The contract payment limit will be $1,000,000.
Facilities Services is requesting approval of a contract with Valley Air Conditioning & Repair, Inc. for the term October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2030, in the amount of $1,000,000.
