RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Sharjo, LLC d/b/a ServiceMaster Restoration Services, effective August 31, 2025, to increase the payment limit by $1,000,000 to a new payment limit of $4,000,000 and extend the term through August 31, 2026, for on-call restoration services at various County sites and facilities, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Facilities Maintenance Budget. (100% General Fund)
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department, Facilities Services is responsible for the maintenance of all County sites and facilities. On-call restoration contracts are used for emergency restoration services at County buildings which include but are not limited to water damage, fire damage, smoke damage, mold, and asbestos remediation. Government Code Section 25358 authorizes the County to contract for maintenance and upkeep of County facilities.
The Public Works Department conducted a formal solicitation for on-call restoration services. The Request for Proposal was originally bid on BidSync #2101-451. The Public Works Department conducted a thorough evaluation and Sharjo, LLC d/b/a ServiceMaster Restoration Services was one of three vendors awarded for this contract. The Board approved a contract with Sharjo, LLC d/b/a ServiceMaster Restoration Services for the term September 1, 2021, through August 31, 2024, in the amount of $3,000,000.
