Report Title: Grant in the amount of $20,000 from Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund for the Antioch Library Teen Space, through June 30, 2025
☒Recommendation of the County Administrator ☐ Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Librarian, or designee, to apply for and accept a grant in the amount of $20,000 from Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund to provide new, updated furniture for the Antioch Library Teen Space, for the period August 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Library Fund match.
BACKGROUND:
The Keller Canyon Landfill Mitigation Fund (KCMF) process was established in August 1992, and funds are used to mitigate effects of the landfill site by funding community-based organizations and County Departments for programs in the following areas: youth services, code enforcement, community beautification, public safety, and community services.
The Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund has provided funding to the Antioch Library for a variety of projects since 2015. These programs have enhanced access to literacy materials, cultural experiences, and enhanced the community’s enjoyment of the library facility.
The Antioch Library is committed to providing quality programs, facilities, and collections. New Teen Area furniture will enhance the usability, capacity, and attractiveness of the space, thus attracting more teen-aged visitors to the library.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this proposal is not approved, Antioch Library will not be able to refresh and update the furniture in the Teen Area of the Antioch library.
