RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment #77-597-1 with CNG International Inc. (dba Home Now Healthcare Services), a corporation, effective October 1, 2023, to amend contract 77-597, to increase the payment limit by $100,000, from $200,000 to a new payment limit of $300,000, for additional home health and hospice services with no change in the original term of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this amendment will result in additional annual expenditures of up to $100,000 and will be funded as budgeted by the department 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) Enterprise Fund II revenues. (Additional Rates)
BACKGROUND:
CCHP has an obligation to provide certain specialized home health and hospice care services to CCHP members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the county. This contractor has been part of the CCHP Provider Network providing home health care services since July 1, 2023.
In July 2023, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #77-597 with CNG International, Inc. (dba Home Now Healthcare Services), in an amount not to exceed $200,000, for the provision of home health care services for CCHP Members and County recipients for the period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025.
Due to an increased need for additional health services such as home health and hospice services, the Division is requesting this contract payment limit and provisions be revised to ensure proper compensation for utilization and the inclusion of hospice and additional home health services for CCHP members and County recipients.
