RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #77-179-2 with First Choice Anesthesia Consultants of Northern California PC, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,800,000, to provide anesthesia and pain management services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members and county recipients, for the period October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $1,800,000 over a 3-year period and will be funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II revenues. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
CCHP has an obligation to provide certain medical specialist services, including anesthesia and pain management for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the county. This contractor has been a part of the CCHP Provider Network providing these services and fostering a deep understanding of the CCHP organizations mission, values, and long-term objectives since October 1, 2018. Per Administration Bulletin 600.3 this contractor provides physician services for CCHP and is exempt from Solicitation requirements.
In July 2020, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #77-179-1 with First Choice Anesthesia Consultants of Northern California PC, in an amount not to exceed $75,000, for the provision of anesthesiology and pain management services for CCHP members and County recipients for the period October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023.
