Report Title:                     Prohibit parking at all times except for vehicles of individuals with disabilities (blue curb) on a portion of the south side of Fourth Street (Road No. 1794B), Rodeo area. 

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2024/4537 to prohibit parking at all times, except for vehicles of individuals with disabilities (blue curb) on a portion of the south side of Fourth Street (Road No. 1794B), beginning at a point 35 feet west of the west curb line prolongation of Rodeo Avenue (Road No. 11795AP) and continuing westerly a distance of 20 feet, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Rodeo area. (District V)

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department, Transportation Engineering was contacted by a resident requesting a disabled parking space. Traffic Engineering staff responded by conducting an assessment, which included a field visit to 402 Rodeo Avenue in Rodeo.

All required documentation was provided by the resident.  According to County policy, the minimum criteria was met to designate a disabled persons parking space in front of the requestor’s residence. Therefore, we recommend a disabled persons parking space be established at this location.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Parking will remain unrestricted at this location.
