IN THE MATTER OF recognizing MLK Day 2024 Humanitarian Willie Mims.
WHEREAS, Willie Mims has served Contra Costa County for 60 years as a community advocate; and
WHEREAS, Willie Mims has focused his efforts on the eradication of racial discrimination in every form and method;
WHEREAS, Willie Mims has a unique and important voice and speaks for those who don’t have a voice;
WHEREAS, Willie Mims fights for his community against issues that negatively affect people’s lives; and
WHEREAS, Willie Mims embodies the spirit and values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and is recognized as the 2024 MLK Day Adult Humanitarian.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby recognize Willie Mims for receiving its 2024 Adult Humanitarian Award, as recommended by the MLK Committee.
