Report Title: Declare Vacancy on the Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board

RECOMMENDATIONS:
DECLARE vacant At-Large 4 seat on the Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board; and
DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Health Services Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact for this action.
BACKGROUND:
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board’s mission is to identify needs in the community with regards to substance use prevention or treatment. The findings and recommendations are provided to the Board of Supervisors, the Health Services Department, Behavioral Health Division and the Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (AODS) administration. The Board is comprised by five supervisorial district seats, six At- Large Member Seats and three At- Large Alternate Seats. Rhiannon Shires vacated her seat due to personal reasons. The term of this seat will expire on June 30, 2026.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The seat will remain unfilled, and this will potentially make it more difficult to achieve a quorum and lessen the viewpoint of communities impacted by substance use issues.
