IN THE MATTER OF recognizing Fire Captain Brian George as the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District 2025-2026 Firefighter of the Year;

WHEREAS, Captain George has distinguished himself through nearly a decade of exceptional service to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, consistently demonstrating the professionalism, integrity, leadership, and dedication expected of the District’s members; and

WHEREAS, Captain George has been selected by his peers as the Firefighter of the Year in recognition of his sustained commitment to excellence and his meaningful contributions to the Fire District, its members, and our communities; and

WHEREAS, throughout his career, Captain George has served at the fire stations throughout the County, including assignments in Concord, Martinez, and Walnut Creek, gaining experience in some of the District’s busiest areas and bringing the same high standard of performance to every assignment; and

WHEREAS, Captain George has made a significant and lasting contribution to the education and development of the District’s firefighters, serving as the lead instructor for Hose Operations at multiple fire academies and teaching numerous additional subjects as an instructor and assistant instructor; and

WHEREAS, Captain George has earned the respect of his peers through the character he demonstrates both when he is being observed and when no one is watching, reflecting a genuine commitment to doing what is right, and continually st...
