RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the Governor's Office of Planning and Research-California Volunteers to extend the term through September 30, 2024, for the Foster Youth Garden Apprenticeship program with no change to the payment amount awarded to the County of $2,423,457. (100% State)


FISCAL IMPACT:

No additional fiscal impact.100% State revenue, no required County match.


BACKGROUND:

On September 13, 2022 (C.57), the Board approved and authorized the Employment and Human Services Director to execute a funding agreement for an amount not to exceed $2,423,457 with a term July 26, 2022 through May 1, 2024. This Staff Report is requesting Board approval to enter into an amendment to extend the end term to September 30, 2024.

Contra Costa County, Employment and Human Services and the Workforce Development Board in partnership with John Muir Land Trust Family Harvest Farm Garden Apprenticeship and Contra Costa Health Services Workforce Health Ambassador Program are providing the services to fulfill the program goals. These contracts will be extended upon approval of this board item to reflect the new term of July 26, 2022 through September 30, 2024. There is no change to the payment limit or other terms.
