RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #76-761-5 with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $70,000, to provide chemotherapy surface contamination testing services for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) Chemotherapy Infusion Pharmacy, for the period November 1, 2025 through October 31, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $70,000 over a 2-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.

BACKGROUND:
The County has an obligation to provide certain specialized surface contamination testing support services for the CCRMC Chemotherapy Infusion Pharmacy. These test samples are sent to the Contractor to be tested for possible chemotherapy contamination on CCRMC pharmacy surfaces. This Contractor has been providing these contamination testing services for the County and fostering a deep understanding of the CCRMC organization's mission, values, and long-term objectives since November 1, 2021. This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. The California State Board of Pharmacy and US Pharmacopeia (USP) 787 and 800 laws require testing of all surfaces that encounter hazardous drugs to ensure employee and patient safety. Health Services Personnel approved this Contract to ensure no conflicts with labor relations.
