RECOMMENDATIONS:
DENY claims filed by John Balobeck, Uriel Chavez, Sonji Gellington, Brian D. Heath, Darrell A. Kelley, Justine Nichols, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, and Tameka Thomas.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
John Balobeck: Property claim for damage to vehicle in the amount of $296.97.
Uriel Chavez: Personal injury claim related to trip and fall in the amount of $1,500,000.
Sonji Gellington: Property claim for damage to vehicle in the amount of $30,000.
Brian D. Heath: Property claim for damage to vehicle in the amount of $6,300.
Darrell A. Kelley: Property claim for damage to vehicle in the amount of $978.72.
Justine Nichols: Property claim for missing earrings in the amount of $723.27.
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church: Claim for reimbursement of tree removal in the
amount of $14,000.
San Ramon Regional Medical Center: Claim for underpayment of bill by the Contra Costa Health Plan in the amount of $6,740.52.
Tameka Thomas: Personal injury claim related to premature death of son and discrimination in the amount of $10,000,000.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Not acting on the claims could extend the claimants’ time limits to file actions against the County.
