The Employment and Human Services Department representative seat on the Council on Homelessness was vacated earlier this year when the seated representative needed to step down. ??The Council on Homelessness is recommending one candidate for this open seat. It is critical to have input and representation from the Employment and Human Services department on the Council on Homelessness
Referral History and Update:
There was an extensive recruitment process to solicit applicants for the open seat and a total of 1 application was received. A nominating panel, created of non-conflicted Council on Homelessness members including Juno Hedrick, LeAnn Matthews, and Sherina Criswell, reviewed the County and Supplemental applications for each applicant, and following a strict rubric, is making a recommendation to the Council
The attached "Applications of Recommended Applicants 2026" document includes the County and Supplemental applications for the recommended applicant. The attached "2024 FINAL Nominating Scoring Rubric" shows the scoring tool used by panelists reviewing the applications.
The term of the newly appointed representative will expire on 12/31/27, as originally scheduled. Should this recommendation be accepted, there are no predicted vacancies on the Council on Homelessness for 2026. The Board of Supervisors has approved all recommended Council on Homelessness candidates to date.
