RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE Budget Amendment No. BDA-24-00756 authorizing the transfer of current year appropriation (budget) in the amount of $6,397,440 from the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) Community Services Bureau (CSB) to the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) Workforce Development Board (WDB), for the Start-up and on-going costs for assistance with the Children with Disabilities/Childcare Support, Early Childhood Education/Childcare, Develop Additional Childcare Providers, and $1,819,200 from the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) Community Services Bureau (CSB) to the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) Administration (Policy & Planning) for Food Security as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
EHSD Community Services Bureau (CSB) appropriations/budgets will be reduced by $8,216,640 and transferred to EHSD Workforce Development Board (WDB) and EHSD Administration (Policy & Planning) Bureaus. This consists of 100% Measure X budgeted funds and no additional County general fund costs will result from this budget amendment.
BACKGROUND:
The Measure X Sales Tax Revenue Allocation included in this staff report was initially budgeted for the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) Community Services Bureau (CSB) to receive a budget of $8,216,640 for the start-up, on-going costs and assistance payments for Early Childhood Education/Childcare, Children with Disabilities/Childcare Support, Develop Additional Childcare Providers, and Food Security, using Measure X funding.
